James joined the KU Endowment in late 2015, leading a six-person team responsible for $3 billion in assets. KU Endowment is the official fundraising and asset management foundation for the University of Kansas. Previously, James was a partner with Fiduciary Research & Consulting, an $8.5 billion OCIO firm in San Francisco, and director of private investments for the Kauffman Foundation in Kansas City. He is a trustee of KU Endowment and the Washburn University Foundation. James is a member of the investment committees for the Washburn University Foundation, the KU Center for Research, and the Nelson-Atkins Museum. He earned his undergraduate degree from Washburn University, an MBA from the University of Kansas, and is a candidate for a master’s specializing in financial history from Harvard.
