Irina Gerry is a sustainable foods industry thought leader, food technology protagonist and a visionary for the future of food. She is the CMO of Change Foods, a precision fermentation food tech company, commercializing a new way of producing real milk proteins and dairy foods, by leveraging the power of biotechnology.
Irina is a founding member and Vice Chair of the Board of the Precision Fermentation Alliance, an industry group on a mission to champion precision fermentation as a trusted solution for a more resilient and sustainable food system.
Irina has spent a decade advocating for sustainable and healthy food and bringing new products to market. Prior to joining Change Foods, Irina led product innovation at iconic plant-based brands, Silk and So Delicious, at Danone. Her career span across a global marketing giant, Procter & Gamble, and a global strategy consultancy, Deloitte.
Irina’s personal story is an improbable path to entrepreneurship and food systems transformation from growing up in a small town in Russia, to leaving her home and family behind to attend the United World College of the Atlantic in Wales at the age of 16, to attending Macalester College in the US and eventually graduating from Harvard Business School.
Irina is known throughout the sustainable food industry a fearless advocate for change. She brings an extraordinary command of the underlying and often hidden-in-plain-sight issues and champions solutions to build a sustainable food future. She is a content creator, climate advocate, and contributing columnist to Forbes and sustainability and impact media platform, Green Queen.
Irina lives in California with her husband and two sons.
