Brian Gerson

Brian Gerson serves as Head of Private Credit at FS Investments where he oversees the firm’s expanding business development company (BDC) and credit platform. Mr. Gerson’s responsibilities include overall strategy, investment management and growth initiatives for private credit at the firm. He is Co-President of FS KKR Capital Corp. (NYSE: FSK), a publicly traded business development company with over $17 billion of assets.

 Mr. Gerson has over 25 years of experience in credit investing and corporate lending, with specific expertise in lending through BDCs. Prior to joining FS Investments, he served as Group Head and Managing Director at LStar Capital, the credit affiliate of Lone Star Funds. Prior to this, Mr. Gersonwas a founding member and partner of Solar Capital Partners and held various credit, origination, management and business development roles. Previously, Mr. Gerson was a Managing Director at CIBC World Markets in its Leveraged Finance and Financial Sponsors Group. CIBC World Markets purchased Mr. Gerson’s predecessor firm, the Argosy Group, an investment banking and leveraged finance boutique he joined after beginning his career in the corporate finance department of Merrill Lynch & Co.

Mr. Gerson graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Tufts University where he earned a BA in Mathematics.
