Dr. Jennifer Huberty

Dr. Jennifer Huberty is an accomplished behavior research scientist with >20 yrs experience directing research teams in academic and industry-based settings using digital approaches to change behavior and improve well-being. Dr. Huberty was the Head of Science at Calm for 5 years and now the Founder of her own company, Fit Minded INC where she serves as a fractional Chief Science Officer and/or an advisor for scientific thought leadership to digital health companies. Because she has a background in both academia and industry, Dr. Huberty understands how science can be leveraged to grow business and generate revenue. She is an expert in developing and leading science strategy and roadmaps, hiring and building teams, developing and leading scientific advisory boards, developing infrastructure for partnerships and collaborations between company and researchers/institutions, vetting and engaging partners, and translating science for both external and internal audiences. She has worked cross functionally with product, content, UX research, communications, data science, engineering, operations, legal, and marketing. Dr. Huberty has published ~170 papers and has a current appointment as an Associate Professor at Mays Cancer Center/MD Anderson in San Antonio, Texas in which she holds an R01 and an R21. She has affiliations as Associate Professor and Research Scholar in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of Arizona’s College of Medicine, and Adjunct Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Scottsdale, Arizona. She lives in Phoenix, AZ, is married and a mother of two boys and enjoys exercise, yoga and meditation.

• Co-author of the book, “Designing Effective Physical Activity Interventions”
• Over $10 million in grants from entities including National Institutes of Health, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and UNICEF.
